  • Commander-in-Chief: Hari Singh Nalwa (1791-1837) served as the esteemed Commander-in-chief of the Sikh Khalsa Fauj, the army of the Sikh Empire under Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
  • Military Genius: He is celebrated for his pivotal role in numerous conquests, including those of Kasur, Sialkot, Attock, Multan, Kashmir, Peshawar, and Jamrud.
  • Frontier Expansion: Nalwa was responsible for significantly expanding the Sikh Empire's western frontier beyond the Indus River, right up to the mouth of the Khyber Pass.
  • Governor: He also served as the efficient governor of Kashmir, Peshawar, and Hazara, establishing a mint to facilitate revenue collection in those regions.
